INFO

After the Spider (from left to right) : Sean Demarest, Aaron Anesgart and Evan Fortgang.

After the Spider is a powerful band of teenage musicians from Northern New Jersey and New York. We bring our different styles to create our own special sound. We perform original music and covers of rock classics and alternative music. We are comfortable playing in front of large crowds or in intimate settings. We love making music and performing. It is what drives us to be better.

Evan Fortgang (15) - Guitar and backing vocals. Evan started playing guitar when he was just 6 years old. After hearing Megadeth on the radio and the guitarist in his Dad's band, he knew music would be what he wanted to do. Evan’s abundant knowledge of music theory is what formed his modal writing and improvisational style of playing.  Evan also picked up the drums at age 9, and later vocals - however guitar is his main instrument.  Some of his major influences are Steve Vai, Frank Zappa, Al Di Meola, Tosin Abasi, and John Petrucci. Evan also plays guitar in the jazz band at his high school and participates in marching band at school where he plays the snare drum and marching quads. Aside from music, Evan also is a member of the JV Golf Team.

Sean Demarest (18) - Bass and lead vocals. Sean started playing guitar at age 11. He changed over to bass at 15. The bass just felt right. His musical inspirations are Flea, John Entwistle, Stu Ham, Steve Harris and Vince Genella. He is constantly writing new original music. He is the primary song writer for the band. Besides music, Sean is a varsity athlete at his high school. He is on the football and track teams.

Aaron Anesgart (16) - Drums. Aaron's passion for music started when he was 7, experimenting with keyboard and guitar until he met his true love, THE DRUMS.  Although his inspiration is Rock, he is a versatile musician, participating in concert band, percussion ensemble, jazz band and marching band.  He is a proud member of WVHS Marching Band, who brought home the 2014 National Championship.  His knowledge of various styles of drumming allows him to play multiple genres of music.  He has played live shows for over 5 years and is grateful for the many incredible gigs he has been a part of.  When not playing drums or listening to music Aaron enjoys learning physics, playing baseball and eating sushi.
